Report Back
Mayor Dorothy at the new Watford skateboard park
A
better Watford for young people
IN JULY the skate park in Derby Road near the town centre was
opened. It is proving a great success, and is already very well
used.
‘
Skateboarding seems to be here to stay’, comments Dorothy, ‘and
we need to provide proper facilities. I hope that the new skate
park will not only give skateboarders somewhere to practice their
skills, but will also give some relief to other town centre users
with skateboarders no longer using the High Street.’
Another new facility that opened earlier this year is the BMX
bike track at the Harebreaks Adventure Playground. This again
is already
a popular facility, which is clearly meeting a need
among young people.
