Action
for cleaner streets…
NEW initiatives to keep our streets cleaner since Mayor Dorothy
Thornhill was elected include:
Increasing
the amount of time spent by street cleaners actually
cleaning streets by getting
rid of inefficient work practices.
Investing
in modern, state-of-the-art cleaning equipment.
Regular
cleaning of subways and removal of graffiti.
A new ‘free’ removal
service for abandoned cars.
Cracking
down on businesses that fail to make proper
arrangements for removing waste.
Quicker times for dealing with
fly-tipping and a rapid response team to deal with litter ‘blackspots’.
