Report Back
Clean-up campaign goes on
MANY local people will have seen the chewing gum removal team hard
at work in the town centre in late July/early August.
Dorothy says: ‘We did a chewing
gum blitz soon after I was elected, but this will now happen regularly
in the town centre, St
Albans Road and Market Street.’
The council has also held ‘Environmental Action Days’ in
parts of Woodside and Leggatts wards. This meant working with
the police and the Fire Service to target fly-tipping, untaxed
vehicles and grot spots. Now West Watford is being declared an
Environmental
Action Zone, because levels of fly-tipping, litter and dumping
of
business waste remain unacceptable.
