Apart from action on transport and key services, we are determined to protect and enhance the environment of our town into the future.

Liberal Democrat councils are known for their strong commitment to the environment and Watford under Liberal Democrat control would be no exception. We would hope to emulate the strong environmental record of Liberal Democrat-controlled Three Rivers Council.

We will continue to use the planning system to secure environmental improvements through Section 106 agreements. Whereas Labour have allowed such 'planning gain' monies to go unspent, sometimes for several years, we will make sure that developer contributions really do benefit the local environment.
