 Mark
Watkin's personal pledge to you.
"I have lived in the Nascot
Ward for over 25 years. My three children were educated
in Nascot Wood Schools and I am currently Chairman of Governors
at Bushey Hall School.
As the son of a general practitioner
I was brought up to believe that you should always work to
contribute more to the community in which you live than you
take from it. This is why in addition to my work as a Governor,
I have been a Church Warden of a Church in Watford, helped
establish the Watford Multi-Cultural Community Centre in
Durban Road, and for some years was on the Management Committee
of the West Watford Community Association.
Those who represent their community
as local councillors , county councilors or as our MP have
a duty to be aware of and listen to the views of all their
fellow residents irrespective of their political allegiances.
Should I be elected, I will do all to be aware of the issues
that concern you both collectively and individually, working
my hardest to resolve them."
Two Horse Race
Recent elections in Nascot have seen
the Liberal Democrats finish in a strong second place, not
far behind the Conservatives. Labour and the Greens have
trailed in third and fourth place.
Many Labour and Green supporters are
already saying they will back Mark Watkin and the Liberal
Democrats in this election as the only way to beat the Conservatives.
On issues such as the cuts in fire cover
and the future of Watford General Hospital, the Conservatives
have put party politics before fighting for our area.
This election offers a chance to send a powerful message
not to take local residents for granted.
