Sue Bartrick has been selected as the Liberal Democrat candidate in the local elections on 10th June.
Sue lives in Leavesden Ward with partner Stephen. She has three grown-up children, all of whom live in Abbots Langley or Garston, and six grandchildren, five at local schools. She is about to take retirement form the Civil Service. In her spare time Sue enjoys gardening and spending time with her family.
As a current Parish Councillor Sue has already taken up a number of local issues, including the need for a new bus shelter on the A405 and the scandal of the unopened play area on the new estate at Huntonbury. She is keen to continue working for local people as a Three Rivers District councillor.

- backed for Parish by-election
In addition to the District elections there is a Parish by-election. This is due to Barry Highland's decision to move away from the area on his retirement. Local residents are backing Margaret Bannister who is the LibDem candidate for the parish by-election to be held the same day - June 10th
Margaret has lived in the Watford area all her life. She has lived at her current home in Abbots Langley for 7 years and prior to that lived in the heart of the ward in Woodside Road. Married to Alan, she has two sons and three granddaughters. Until her recent retirement, Margaret worked as a practice nurse at the Sheepcot Lane surgery, and she now puts her skills to good use as a voluntary worker at the hospice.
Margaret is a long time member of the LibDem team, actively involved in Abbots Langley Methodist Church, Margaret enjoys gardening and flower arranging. she is also involved witht he U3A. Margaret said "I am looking forward to serving local people and putting something back into the community. I am particularly interested in leisure activities for young and old and in ensuring that all parts of the Parish feel their views are listened to."
